(May 31, 2013) Denver, CO— Earth Protect Moves People “From Image to Action” telling stories of people and companies protecting the Earth through its video focused web site and its full service video production and sustainability services division, Earth Protect Productions. By creating this partnership, both Earth Protect and MangroveWatch will increase their mission impact and engage more people in support of a sustainable future. MangroveWatch is all about the interactions of people with mangroves and coastal shorelines across the globe:

  • To learn about mangroves and tidal wetlands anywhere
  • To discover and disseminate the many benefits of mangrove wetlands
  • To dispel misconceptions and misinformation about mangroves
  • To provide best available advice and training from recognised mangrove specialists
  • To establish baselines and to monitor change to shoreline ecosystems
  • To promote assessments of estuarine condition with annual reporting
  • To support best practice methods for habitat rehabilitation

MangroveWatch engages with volunteers and indigenous communities to protect and enhance estuary and shoreline vegetation, improving landscape connectivity along coastlines. This will be achieved through the implementation of an integrated program that includes both the identification of restoration hotspots and the development and implementation of site specific rehabilitation plans to protect and enhance estuarine shoreline habitat condition.
